Meeting Topic: How to Start a Referral Conversation
What are a few questions your members could ask which reveal if there is a need or no need when they are out speaking with potential clients for you?
Your group members are your referral alliances. These women have made a commitment to actively create business opportunities for you and vice versa you for them.
You need to equip your alliances with the tools to talk about you. This meeting topic will provide you with the opportunity to educate your group with the questions they can ask potential clients.
This meeting please come prepared to share 1-2 questions that you would like your group to ask people in our networks.
Opportunities to refer rarely happen without asking great questions. What kinds of questions could your members ask their networks to gauge whether they need your product or service? Check out some of the examples… For an insurance advisor her question could be “When was the last time you had your insurance reviewed? Do you know you could be paying too high a premium?”
For an accountant her question could be “Are you happy with your current accountant? Do you feel you are getting great value and service?”
For the Venus Network one of the questions you could ask is “Are you interested in growing your business and extending your network?”
You need to CREATE opportunities to refer. Questions allow you to engage in conversations. Being a member of Venus is about being active in contributing to your group. Stepping out of your comfort zone and asking the right questions.
If we all committed to asking 3 questions this next fortnight… how many referrals could we bring to our next meeting??
OTHER EXAMPLES:
Are your sales not what they should be and you are not sure why? (if yes then it is time to do an audit of your processes and the quality of your leads)
How old is your current server? (if more than 3 years it is out of warrantee we can help you with that)
Are you building or renovating or thinking of building or renovating? (if yes, this information service will save you a lot of time doing product research)
