Tell us about your business?
In February 2013, Wellington Windows and Doors (WWD) were born out of the well-known and trusted brand First Windows and Doors Ltd.
Our new name reflects exactly who we are — Wellington’s aluminium window and door specialists — manufacturing, supplying, and installing the optimal products for Wellington’s challenging natural conditions. Most new building sites within Wellington require joinery designed for “extreme conditions”. That is why our customers choose WWD, they are sure that we know what we are doing and that we will get it right.
We supply both First Aluminium and Klima u-PVC windows and doors for both renovations and new builds.
What do you love about running your business?
I don’t own or manage the business myself – but I love helping my clients with their renovations and new builds to make sure they have the information to make the best decisions around insulation and ventilation when purchasing new double glazed windows. I will be developing the Klima u-PVC side of the business so that we can offer another solution to the market. I also love being able to provide a gentler, more informative service than what my male counterparts in the industry tend to do.
What growth have you experienced being in Venus?
Venus has really helped me with my confidence – in meeting new people, having stronger conversations with people I don’t know well and talking in front of people. I have really started to grow out of my normal anxieties and shyness around talking to people. In business, not only does it make me more confident when talking to my clients, I have learnt to be more direct and really put a value on my time and our products.
Women are redefining success and growing businesses on their terms: What does success look like to you?
To me success is all about me and my family being happy and healthy, doing something we feel passionate about each day and having quality people around me to inspire me.
What’s your favourite pastime when you are not working?
I love spending time at home with my husband, 9 year old stepson and 3 Bengal cats. I enjoy cooking, going for walks and anything car related.
